Hello Folks,

This car was driving ok with no issues last night but after parking overnight today it wont start. Engine control module does not communicate suddenly. I found fuses on side of dashboard fuse #28 and 29 has no 12V supply but fuse is ok. Does anyone know where the supply to these fuse numbers come from?Anyone with WD?help appreciated.

Additional checks shows no voltage supply to the Fuel pump so pump does not run..but fuel pump relay clicks ok during cranking. I have also installed new fuel pump relay but still no go..very wiered situation indeed

How about power to the ECU itself?

Thanks, issue fixed now. Power supply to the ECU was the problem.

Would you mind elaborating? What caused this?

-Uwe-
What caused it?hmm the 10A mini fuse supplying the ECU, though was good had bad connection inside the fuse box. I cleaned the contacts inside fuse box and replaced the fuse then suddenly the fuel pump runs when key is on and the fuse 28 and 29 also became live. Then ecu started communicating with VCDS..what I cant seem to understand tho is the relationship between the ecu fuse, fuse #28 and #29. Probably some good WD will explain it

I think 28 is fuel pump fuse. It's power by fuel pump relay. So now that ECM has power it grounds the relay and supplies the power to fuse 28.

Good Luck

No, but you can buy one hour ticket and download the wiring diagram in pdf.
Its a pain to find correct things in there - but I usually manage in one hour.
Just be sure you are in correct Erwin - last time I managed to buy VW instead of Skoda.... So had to pay double.... And pick up a good day - you need patience.....

I don't think the NAR site offers a one-hour option. IIRC, the cheapest option is one day for $35.
