Tom, when looking at your scan from June 26th, 2021 @ 18:44:01 is clearly shows 01, 93, 94, 95 (ROD Error), 96, 99, 9A, 9B, B0, B4, and B6 being scanned and responding. When you say "only 93, 94, 95, B4 and B6" are you saying that you have a different Auto-Scan result than what you sent us or are you talking about directly accessing the modules via the "Select" menu?

Hi Sebastian,

I'm talking about accessing the modules in the "LT3" tab.

The autoscan is the correct one for this attempt with the beta software.

I have looked at the debugs from 96, 99, 9A, 9B, A1 and B0. All show normal comms with CB4548 both in autoscan and normal mode. No failure to connect recorded.

Thanks Eric,

What's the best way to show you the failure I'm getting? Video with my phone?

Thanks

If there's a failure to connect, it should be recorded in the debug files. Start by clearing your debug folder.
You could a screentogif, or a phone video. Phone video would let you show the complete sequence of steps (including ignition, plugging into car/computer, starting VCDS and connecting to the controllers).
First thing to do when you start VCDS is Debug 1024 and Save; then do your magic to show the autoscan works fine with all installed controllers but direct access doesn't. Then send us all the debug files, along with the video or gif (or a link thereto).

Thanks for the video, it showed perfectly the cable connection, ignition/engine status and the steps you took!
I think it is just a matter of explaining a couple things now.
The video shows autoscan running through the addresses, and connecting to the expected modules during the autoscan; here is the autoscan for reference:

Then we go to the LT3 tab and attempt to connect to:
*91-LT3 engine: No response
*99-Ign switch: talks OK
*9A-Central locks: talks OK
*91-LT3 engine: No response
*93-LT3 immo: talks OK
*C1-Battery management: no response

91-LT3 engine: Your LT3 actually does not have/use this address. It seems as a general rule the earlier LT3s responded at address 91, the newer ones at address 01; it's possible some respond at both addresses. Notice how in your autoscan it's address 01 that responds. Seeing how this confused you, and there's no "01" on the LT3 tab, I feel maybe we need to make some changes in VCDS to clarify that point. That could be trying both 01 and 91 when the user clicks the latter in the LT3 tab, or having a messagebox to try 01 if 91 fails when connecting manually, or adding 01 to the LT3 tab.

C1-Battery management: just because a module is on the LT3 tab, doesn't mean it is installed in your LT3. VCDS tried to scan C1 during your autoscan, but got no reply; likewise, you're getting no reply when trying manually, because there's no C1 module in your LT3. Same goes for anything in the "scan" list:
Code:
01 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 9A 9B 9C 9D 9E 9F A0 A1 A2 A3 B0 B1 B2 B3 B4 B5 B6 C1
that you are not seeing in your autoscan results: the module just isn't installed in your particular LT3.

Thanks for your testing and patience and getting us all we requested!

Brilliant, thanks @Eric .

My understanding of what you have said is that if I do not use the LT3 tab and instead go to 01 Engine I'll infact connect. I'll give that a go but from what you've explained I'm sure it will work.

Thanks again, and glad to have been able to give you what you need.

Tom
