B1015 Battery Interrupter error

I have an Audi A1 which I knew had been crashed damaged before I bought it. I did a full scan, and have this saved - nothing major showing there.

Recently though the airbag light came on and a scan of the airbag showed a B1015. I looked at the battery and the repairing garage have been very naughty.
It looks like the plug going to N253 (yellow colour? - airbags usually are) has been disconnected and a resistor fitted across it to keep the system happy and keep the MIL light off. I guess this resistor has failed or moved causing the error to be logged.

So...I assume the Battery Interrupter must have been triggered, but how can I tell? the car has power so if the ignitor had fired they must have have bypassed the 'break' it cases in the battery circuit. What should I look for?

Hello,

So...I assume the Battery Interrupter must have been triggered, but how can I tell? the car has power so if the ignitor had fired they must have have bypassed the 'break' it cases in the battery circuit. What should I look for?

- Remove the resistor and plug the N253-Battery isolation igniter back in and see what the fault codes says now.
- If you have a different code, please post a complete Auto-Scan too.
- When in doubt, replace the N253 with a brand new one from the dealer.

Warning! Follow the Factory Repair Manual instructions when handling! It is considered a pyrotechnic component, which must be replaced after it has been activated.

HI Keith - I have cleared the code now. I have a full scan from when I first bought the vehicle. I could post that but it really doesn't show anything relevant to this fault.
DrPeter - I will try your suggestion. Do you know how the 'isolator' does its thing? I have looked at it and it doesn't show any signs of having been tampered with at all, so I can't work out gow the garage has managed to restore the 'blown' battery connection.

- The N253-Battery isolation igniter receives a signal to 'ignite' a small charge within the N253, and that charge forces a pin to shear the battery strip connection with in the N253. See Audi A3 Self Study Program 992503.

Hi guys, I know it's been a while since this was posted but was this resolved? I have the same error code. Ordered the part and fingers crossed it's the resolution. It'll be here in the next couple of days. Can you let me know if you had resolved the airbag light with the part? Thanks in advance.
