Hi,

I use latest VCDS release and wanted to reset the min deviation qty. in an 03L 906 023 DN. Basic Settings -> IDE06141 is for that.

I made this for years via ODISS and I believe, that with ODISS, I dont had to hit the brake and accelerator pedal all the time. But via VCDS (or even VCP) I have to.

Is this correct?

If there is a requirement such as hitting the brakes and the accelerator, it is imposed by the ECU and I can't think if any reason why it would be different using one scan tool than another.

Thats just what I thought as well. Since you are familiar with the procedure (At least I hope so :) ): Some persons in the world wide web wrote, that such basic setting need a login. I did not. Does VCDS that automagically while starting the basic setting or is no login required (especially for this basic setting)?

Can someone say if the ECU stops this basic setting after a maximum amount of time if it wasnt successful yet?

No, I am not. We don't have 1.6l TDIs on this side of the pond.

Ok, the solutions of this mystery: The PCR2.1 allows IDE-06141 with and WITHOUT login. Without login, the procedure is different and would simply not end. without login one have to permanently press brake and accelerator pedals down.

With login the procedure is different and after some minutes done (without pressing anything - the pedal procedure is different, too). Interesting, that the ECU allows this basic setting without previous login.

Solved :)

Hi, I (and quite a few others) have tried the IDE06141 procedure but can not get it work. I load the ECU security code (27971) and go through the correct pedal pressing process but the program just hangs on the screen saying 'Running |'. The engine remains at 800RPM for >20 mins but nothing happens.
I've seen this process running on YouTube videos where the car automatically revs a number of times throughout the range for about 5 minutes but this doesn't happen for me. I'm coming to the conclusion that the process is hanging due to the ECU SW version on my car - VCDS show this as SW Version 9050 (last four digits in the 'Component' box). All the videos I've seen where this process has completed successfully show ECU SW versions starting 997x. Do you know which SW version your car has?
My car is a Golf MK6, 1.6TDI, 2012
Thanks Ian

Thank you for finding this info.
Out of interest what SW version was on the car you got the IDE06141 to work correctly?

More widely -
Has anyone tried IDE-06141 with this SW version 9971?
Does anyone have a link to where/how I can download a copy?
What equipment is needed to Flash a new ECU update?

Help and advice very much appreciated :)

Ian

I cant remember exactly on which I did it. Maybe a 99xx.
To flash it you need a friend with pro tools (or you use something like VCP).

to get the file you could ask on the linked page for it. Maybe you get an answer? :O
These files are not downloadable for everyone anymore.

Why do you even want to do this? There are problems?
Does the car have the conditions beforehand?
Oil temperature over 80 C? DPF not in the regeneration cycle?

There was some TPI due to judder. In that case it had to be flashed to 9050 and higher.

And just for information: All software versions for SW: 03L 906 023 MM HW: 03L 907 425 C are no diesel update SW versions.
SW: 03L 906 023 MM was changed to 03L 997 557 T after Diesel update Flash.

Hi, I thought the reason for doing this balancing exercise was to correct the injector fuel balance after replacing an injector. The new injector appears to be over fuelling (+2 mg/st) compared to others with the idle conditions of -1, +2, -1, +1. I know all of these are within the spec of +/- 2.8 but I thought they need to close to each other to get a smooth engine - I've seen many videos showing values like mine and these are within +/- 0.2 after this test.

My engine sounds rougher than it was pre-injector change (injector 2 went low resistance 15 ohms instead of 20kohms) and now the new injector with new code have been programmed into the ECU, the engine cover looks to be shaking quite dramatically - looks out of balance somewhere.
When driving there is excessive 'pinking' under load until the revs get above 1800RPM, above this the engine sounds good but perhaps the frequency is above my hearing range ?? Fuel consumption hasn't changed even though I am accelerating harder to get through the pinking zone. Driving the car and letting the ECU learn doesn't appear to be making the situation much better - the imbalance is still the same after 100-200 miles

I have tried to run IDE06141 when the coolant temperature is above 80C but it still just hangs.

Good to get the diesel gate numbers written down - but it would still be good to know which SW version have been able to execute this test correctly. I know of at least one other VCDS user who has SW 9052, and they weren't able to run this test and I've seen others quoting that they had similar issues until they updated the SW to >997x. Perhaps it needs the diesel gate software??

I've got the car for another week before it goes, so anything else I should be checking

Everyone's comments are very much appreciated

I don't think the function was available in every software version. But I don't know when exactly the function was added. I have already done this many times with before Diesel Update SW and looked at which versions, it was always at least SW 99xx. It is certain that it is not dependent on a diesel update. So if you have the opportunity I would flash to 9971 and test again. Don't worry, this is not a Diesel update. But I can't give you any certainty that it will work.

I know it's a long time ago now, but do you get this fixed. I am having exactly the same issue and my software revision is 8829.

The Skoda dealer was very vague, but implied that the software could only be updated with whatever the latest revision was, that was currently available online (it being an online update service). There did not seem to be the ability to cherry pick an optimum update version, so I elected to avoid paying for a potential problem in the form of the EA189 'fix'.
It seems a bit limiting to me and there are perhaps other companies that have a repository of factory software files, but I'm past the point of needing it done now.
