Electric swivel towbar retrofit

Hi sorry for the above post must of pressed the wrong button
I have fitted a factory swivel towbar to my Seat Ateca 2019, everything fitted and coded and all lights and 12v available as expected and the dash shows a trailer connected when plugged in.
My issue is the electric swivel side of the towbar dose not work and the switch to operate it dose nothing no lights nothing, I was led to believe it was because the ecu was not Parameterized so ai have purchased a pre Parameterized one from car systems however this also dose not operate the towball, anyone got any ideas..! Have Imissed something in my coding ?

@Glyn: HI. The long-code string on the ECU on your auto scan = 01190032032405092000- Ive highlighted Byte 5. Hex24=binary 0010 0100 - I've highlighted Bit 4 (this is the same as the Bit settings in the picture below)
Whilst I don't have information about your specific engine, it's highly likely from the picture below that it uses the same software switches as other MQB vehicles. So, try setting Bit 4 - Byte 5 should equal hex34 after the change.

- Hi Don, many thanks for your input, I did try this yesterday due it made no difference so put it back to original, however I realised I had the original ecu back on so I have fitted the so-called Parameterized one and set up the codes as your instructions but unfortunately still no switch operation for the swivel action.

If that was installed in the shown Autoscan, with the Serial number: 0544692868, it is not Parameterized!

That’s great info many thanks, I am awaiting a reply on Monday from the ecu supplier so this info will be a great help, the ecu was ment to be pre Parameterized for my car so essentially plug and play.

Hi to anyone that’s been following this thread.
Today I received a new ECU from car systems in Poland, as a replacement for the previously purchased one that we believed had been sent un Parameterized, and to my “delight and relief” a simple plug it in and away it went, tow bar switch lights up and with the pull of the button the towbar magically appears from under the bumper another pull and it vanishes again.
I would just like to thank everyone who has helped and advised along the way, I am one very happy caravaner now..

From memory I was surprised to see no dataset
Number in the new ecu that was sent.
However it simply plugged in and worked fine.
Unfortunately I have the ecu swapped out at the moment
As the car was due in for service today but
Unfortunately I am snowed in so won't be able
To double check.
I spent a lot of time looking into it and the overwhelming
Conclusion was paramertization, as I say I bought a ecu
That should of worked but did not and this through me
However the company in Poland sent a second one out
And it worked perfectly.
I believe there is a software solution but it is expensive.
If you come up with a fix I would be very interested.

No my Ateca was a ez model so no options fitted.
I managed to buy a new towbar that came with a ecu in the box.
I purchased original wiring kit and switch for my car
And fitted myself so essentially as factory fit.
I coded up with vcds without issue apart from the
Switch not lighting up or working and this is where
I started my research.
As you say I believe ODIS or VCP is a fix but expensive.
That is why I bought a new ecu from car systems in Poland after
Making sure it would work the switch, it arrived
But failed to work so after contacting them they
Sent a second ecu that fitted and worked straight away.
And without fault for the past two years.
During the fit I did come up with a work round
By using a window switch to bridge across the
Towbar motor and the live feed on the plug for ecu
This allows me to operate the towbar manually.
Press on one side of switch the pin pulls out and
Ball will release press other side and pin will go in
allowing you to lock ball in position.
