Can anyone outside of the US clarify for my how the Start Stop system is supposed to operate on a vehicle factory equipped with Auto Hold?

I retrofitted Auto Hold and Start Stop seems pointless to have since I release the brake pedal for Auto Hold to take over and the engine will restart since I released the brake, wondering if this is normal in other markets where Auto Hold was factory equipped. If this isn’t normal then wondering what the engines signal is to restart, that accelerator pedal? Seems like that would be a really delayed response if that was the case.

Mine behaves the same. With the setup I have now you can't have auto hold and stop the engine at the same time. My wife's BMW has the ability to have auto hold and the engine stop at the same time. I haven't used it much on her car to tell how much of a delay there is. It does feel odd when both are engaged.
