So it is not possible to memorize the position of the mirror on the driver's side, for the memorized seat position, but for the mirror on the passenger's side yes? strange... What happens to your driver's side mirror when you press the memorised seat position?

Did you check the coding of the drivers side module?

It is possible. I retrofitted memory seat to my ex-Tiguan and the driver mirror memory worked fine after coding.

I thought the modules on both sides should be coded the same way. The only difference is that the passenger side mirror lowers when reversing. Should the coding be changed somewhere else?

Both coding:

-Passenger side:

Hi kakubaz :)
Right mirror has a memory module due to reverse gear.
Left mirror not.
VCDS shows options to change but it will not work because there is no proper module in mirror and wiring.

Together with colleague @Pumpkin we tried to solve the problem. He has a Golf 7.5 in which the driver's mirror remembers positions along with the seat position, this is what I want to achieve. We agreed that the driver's mirror motor should be number 1K0 959 578A. The wires to the motor itself are connected exactly as on the passenger side. The wires to the driver's door module are connected exactly as in ELSA. Everything exactly as Pumpkin's has. Also we have the same coding for both door modules, but my mirror still does not remember the position....

maybe the door control module needs a specific DATASET.

No he means flashing a dataset. Same module is used in several models, the features are determined with parameter sets aka datasets. Coding is just one part.
This is the benefits (or curse depends from view point) of a modular platform

Where you able to get it working. I retrofitted memory seats, i have no errors in any module. Mine behaves like yours. Passenger mirrors position is stored. The drivers is not. I can post my coding if you need.

I don't have the ability to currently flash the datasets in my drivers, but will try to install other driver door drivers this week.
