MKV Golf 2.0 FSI Oil Pressure Warning

So my golf keeps flashing the oil pressure light with the warning - "STOP!" Oil Pressure Engine Off. This is at the top of the multi function display, thing is there are no fault codes for the engine. Should I replace the oil pressure sender and if so where is it?

When I hear of low oil pressure I always assume of oil sludge and a clogged pick up tube. Does the warning appear with driving conditions under 2000rpm? How is service history, frequent oil changes - i.e more than the recommended?

Did you consider checking PSI and changing oil & filter plus pick-up in sump for obstruction?

Just changed the oil and filter 5W30, don't know of service history, can the sump be removed whilst the engine is still in the engine bay?

Check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge before taking stuff apart.

I replaced the oil pressure sender near the oil filter and noticed that the earth from the sender was missing, replaced sender and earth wire - no more low oil pressure warning on the dash - happy days
