My first (finally) post on these forums. Apologies if I forget something.
We are working on our customers 2011 Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI which has quite an interesting problem. The car came to us with a stretched timing chain (surprise) which was changed with no trouble. After the mechanic was done with the timing chain and was about to go for a test ride - the dashboard was completely dead. He checked all the basic things like fuses and so on, which were ok. He then had this kind of weird idea, that he'll take a dashboard from another octavia which we were working with and see if it works in this car. Well it worked. He then installed back the original dashboard which started to work as well. Weird enough, after this the ABS-unit had lost it's coding (the other dashboard has something to do with this?). Obviously he didn't have autoscan from this car before he started to work with the timing chain. I gave the car to another mechanic with a bit more VCDS experience, who then found some working code from the internet. We got the car up and running, but our problem now is that the new code he found doesn't have Start & Stop system in it and the car is giving us Start & Stop system error all the time (and the customer is not happy). He has tried different codings with no luck.
So, I was wondering that could I get any help from here before I have to take the car to Skoda. Millions of thanks in advance.
