Hi guys, I have a mk5 golf, 2006, 1.9tdi. In from another garage with the fuel gauge not working. After diagnosing a faulty cluster I’m curious if I can code a “used” cluster in with vcds?

Code it, sure. But dealing with the immobilizer that's integral with the cluster is dicey. In theory, it should be possible on a 2006 if you have PINs for for both clusters, but there are cases where it doesn't seem to work as documented.

If you have the Pin codes & wait for a channel, well do you have 050 pin codes & where is your auto-scan?
I have no auto scan I’m only asking if this is do-able. If I posted an auto scan would you have a better idea?
In theory, it should be doable. In practice, it doesn't always work out.
And Auto-Scan would allow us to confirm exactly what the car is made of.
