If I clear the codes, the transmission gear indicator on the dashboard appears normal and no transmission faults occur on scan. If I start the car, transmission indicator lights up showing limp mode.

I replaced the TCM on this car a couple of years ago and put the module in a plastic bag. It did get damp down there but I don't think the TCM got damaged this time. I took the TCM apart and did not find any rust or water in the unit.

I appreciate the help. I would be willing to take it to a garage for repair, but nobody wants to touch a '99 :(
I did replace the shift selector solenoid this past weekend since I thought that was bad. Before I replaced it, I measured 14V coming in (car was on charger) and got a low reading on resistance. But the N110 code is still there (after the replacement)

Here is the most recent scan:

Have you verified the wiring between the Shift Selector Locking Solenoid and the TCM?

I put a voltmeter on the wires going to the solenoid.
There is always 12V running to the shift selector solenoid when ignition on (14v when engine running).
The voltage drops down to zero when I hit the brake pedal.

I thought since this was the expected behavior, the wiring would be good. Do you think I should investigate this wiring more?
thank you @Uwe

I thought since this was the expected behavior,
At the solenoid, it might be. But note the fault says "Open or Short to Ground". So you need to verify that the TCM is seeing that. A break in the wire between there and the TCM would prevent it, right?

Thanks for explaining that. Time to buy some kerosene and get back to work. Thanks again

Is the schematic for the TCM pins documented anywhere? There's a lot of wires!
