How to set climatronic in service mode.

Hello everyone!

For more than a year, when scanning my VW Amarok, I see an error in the left temperature flap motor, which says that it is stuck. the error is intermittent. but lately I can hear noises when the servo motor works and the climatronic no longer cools as before.

For example, before, having the car in the sun, at about 35 ° C, I would enter the car and when I turned on the air conditioning, set at 22 ° C, it applied 3 or 4 levels of the blower, this to try to cool the cabin. as fast as possible. but now it only applies 1 or 2 levels of the blower. I can compare this with the climatronic of my Tiguan.

I have already bought the servo motor to replace it, but according to the service manual, before removing it, the climatronic must be put in "service position" and after removing and putting the servo motor, make a basic setting, which I already saw how to do it with the VCDS, but I have not seen how to set the service position.

Just to clarify, the temperature registered by the internal sensor is almost the same as the external one, it varies only by about 2 or 3 degrees. so I assume the problem is the servo motor.

I leave a scan, but since I did a delete of errors it has not been generated again.

Well.. huh... this is odd, there doesn't seem to be a service position for this version of HVAC... or none I can find.

To that end, when you get a new in box part, it is clocked to [X] position. By putting the old part in to a service position, the old part gets clocked to [X] position and thus the new part lines up easier. IMHO, easier, but not a requirement. I don't know what kind of room you have when swapping out said part, but with the old part out, you can move things with the HVAC box so the part lines up. Or you can see about tinkering with the settings of the HVAC controls so that the old part ends up being clocked the same way the new part it so things line up.

The documentation that I can find is for a more manual system with mechanical cables to push/pull flaps around, and the only flap motor is recirculation flap... to which it the details are just unplug, unclip, remove screw, install in reverse order.

Indeed.... but when the option isn't there in Basic Settings, one has to do the best they can.

So, I just start the car, to ensure that climatronic is off, I remove and put the servo motor and then do some basic settings?
