Basic Settings on 1995 VW T4 Caravelle (Eurovan)

Hi Folks,

Full van spec is 1995 ACU engine code, 2.5L 5cyl Manual/Petrol RHD Transporter Caravelle, located in Australia.

I have a recurring fault code of

but can't find how to perform basic settings for this engine as it's older ODB1 technology.

I have a workshop manual but there's no mention of basic settings in it!

Any help to properly diagnose the fault and perform basic settings appropriate to this ECU would be gratefully received.

It is indeed in the RTFB.

Set basic settings for the timing using VAG 1767 or equivalent and set idle stabilizer.

OK - I just discovered my workshop manual is not detailed enough. I didn't know about factory manual. I'm just an owner/enthusiast.

I'll subscribe to ErWin for a short time I think and grab what I can for my 3 different vans.. Suspect I still may be limited in the scope of what I can do without other VAG tools but will have a look. Thanks
