I have a 2017 V.W Jetta GLI. Having trouble resetting the maintenance reminder. Can anyone give me the proper steps please?

I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong but I will try again. With the ignition off I pushed and held the trip reset. I then got a message "are you sure you want to reset service warning. Click ok." I click OK and nothing happens. Click trip set and it says it has been reset. I turn off ignition. Then I turn on ignition and it's still there. I have also used my Vagcom software and I think I'm just not following the correct step. I think mine is the non-UDS type. So I will try again.
