Starting off a comment with " did you even..." doesn't exactly ring of a positive helpful response.

And I certainly did read this thread.

I reckon a good way to start a sub-thread/ conversation, and which I try to do when answering folk's questions in the Renault & Porsche forums, is assume the person has tried his best to solve an issue and then evaluate the depth of their troubleshooting as you converse. Like most folks you post once you've tried and tried and still cannot resolve.

Still if I've offended anyone I apologise.
