Take a look for an email with date stamp: 8/13/2026 12:15 PM. At that point you can move forward using these steps:

I'm a long-time lurker/reader and was given (no money exchanged hands) a VCDS kit by a dads friend, some years ago. I've no idea if he bought it new or used (I think he used it once for brake caliper rewind and that's maybe all)... but I see the value in the equipment and the forum/support, so I'd like to be "doing right by the community" and product. To that end, can I please check with you that this is a legit kit and, if it is, can I hop through the (very reasonable) hoops to become a verified member please? Would you please be kind enough to let me know what particular reason applies to me/my profile and march me in the appropriate direction so that I can rectify whateveritis that needs done first?

I think so. The serial number you provided when you joined was from an older HEX+CAN, HCxxx303. That interface was never registered with us, so you should still be able to register it as described in section 2) of the first post of this thread.
