Hi all . Does anybody know the difference between the r8 mirror 81a857511c and the mqb mirror 81a857511a. Ive seen a version c and wondered if it would be compatible with a a3 8v facelift . Thanks

Thought I'd stick up a guide for this seeing as theres no info whatsoever on the net. This will only work on cars that have an 'HIGH' CAN Gateway. If you don't have one you must install that also.. First you'll need to source yourself a rear view mirror that supports HBA. German eBay is best...

@rapier: Don't know the answer to the first part of your question, but the suppliers here indicate that the 81a857511c is compatible with the A3/8V saloon/Hatchback (MY17 onward) which is a MQB platform vehicle

Thanks both of you . Yes i read the retrofit post and one guy used the r8 0art butbi dont know what car he used on . On the uk audi are saying r8 17 on. From your 2 replies looks like it should be ok on the mqb.

Hi all . Had a go at the mirror retrofit and can confirm the 81a857511c mirror audi states uk r8 only works on a3 8v facelift
