and finally decided to ditch my china cable/VCDS Lite combo for the real deal.


Speaking of which, how was that combo for non-VAG group vehicles (if known), please?

As I'm wondering if Lite would have similar abilities to say Launch, Autel, Foxwell, and other handheld scanners/garage servicing tools...

Of course, I've already seen the standard OBD stuff of the full VCDS, just curious about the possibilities of Lite with say an OBDLink in general perhaps :)

VCDS-Lite only knows how to talk via K-Lines. It cannot communicate directly via CAN bus. It also requries a "dumb" interface. K-line protocol is just like RS-232, except that its half-duplex with different voltage levels. So something like an OBDLink interface likely won't work.
