im having trouble using vcds to swap the ecu in my 2010 jetta TDI.

does anyone have a procedure i can follow?

i cant seem to find my immobilizer ID#

A 2010 does not use a traditional Immobilizer ID. It uses a challenge/response mechanism, where the challenge changes with every cycle of the ignition, and the only device that knows how to generate the appropriate response to the challenge is the server on VW's corporate mothership.

Some people may have other, back-door ways of doing it.
