You need to check the wiring. This is clearly a wiring issue. Either the wiring behind the unit or wiring to both rear doors is having issues. If you don't have other issues with rear doors then I would check the wiring behind the unit.


This might be still a coding issue, I'll reiterate the coding

@downtime: Hi. I've checked the WD for the DTC s above and I can confirm that the terminations for the 2 x rear speaker channels on the quad-connector on J794 is the same for both 2 x door and 4 x door vehicles (not surprisingly). The difference between the 2 x body-shapes is simply the wiring route from the hex5F module and the physical speakers. This, and the fact that both rear channels appear to be in error - implies (to me) that perhaps your second suggestion might be more correct - maybe? Or, perhaps the DTCs are a quirk of the CP error (as we both are aware, odd things can happen to hacked hex5F units)?

Most likely it’s a parameter problem. CP has not caused these errors for me ever. What OP wrote earlier, indicates this unit was for Passat and most likely it has Passat dataset in thus the problems with speakers.

I forgot to say that I no longer have access to drive select either.
I have, however, activated the corresponding bit in the BCM.

One of the things I did when going from a unit that came out of an Atlas to a GTI is I used VCDS to save all of the adaptations settings (VCDS Applications, Cotroller Channel Map), in original unit and then save adaptations in new unit. Put them in spreadsheet and look at which ones are different to see if they are affecting. Also for the actual coding, you can put in original unit. Look at coding, long coding and go through bit by bit looking at settings. Take notes. Then put in new unit and go through each bit in long coding and make sure they are aligned with your original unit.
