Audi R8 unable to start

Greeting to all,
i have another case which is more complicated and i do hope to seek support again from all expertise here.
below are the progress i have done so far to this vehicle
engine ecu x 2 has been change and programmed
- ecu faulty, ecu unable to communicate, radiator fan automatically switch on when key position at ON.

the engine wont crank via the ignition key, gear display in Neutral.
the engine can manually crank by direct wire to starter motor.

Do you have the wiring diagrams? Seems you have a problem with the permanent live feed to the control module - terminal 30. I would go to erWin to get a wiring diagram and begin trouble shooting with a meter and a load to find why the control module is barking that terminal 30 is low. Also seems other modules are complaining about the terminal 30 voltage.

No crank is not usually associated with a failed control module. Most often a no crank condition is switches, relays and/or wiring. Were there mods made to the car?

Why was the ECU changed? How did we get to the place that the car would not crank? What else happened? collision?

Can you provide us the wiring diagram, as previously we did download a free version service manual with wiring diagram. but im not sure whether is the same as this r8. As for the control module mentioned here, may i know which one are you referring to? Is it terminal 30 for all the control module with fault code?
No mod was done to this car as per the owner.
As for the ECU changed, when this car sent to us, it was found that the ecu has no communication, we also found out the ecu has been opened before, so we removed the ecu to check and found out it had burnt mark on the board. Even the main wire harness was touched.

Not sure what has been done to the harness before.

have you done a basic fuse check on all the fuses with a test lamp ? you dont need a wiring diagram for that..... then i usually pull out the fuse locations and go through them while someone checks the right fuses are in the right locations. especially since it has been worked on elsewhere.

after that id start working my way through individual circuits.

get the diagrams off Erwin Audi. one hour is like Usd 30 and you have printing rights so get everything at once. save them as PDF

we discovered damaged/broken wiring above fuel tank.
We took a long process removed engine and fuel tank and got it wired back.
We recently completed installed back the fuel tank and engine and when we try to start the car, but still fail.

Trace the wiring for the starter ( B ) circuit back to relay and engine controller or tracks using WD, test components and replace as needed.
Can you post a screenshot of the WD for the respective circuit for B?

What is status of ignition switch for X and terminal 50?

Hi all,

we did the check on the starter wiring, no fault was found.
we install back the original BCM, the engine finally start.
the Run/Start circuit problem still appear in VCDS with a new error popup "Relay for Hydraulic Pump" - P0945.
Please further advice.

Your questions are inconsistent and make no sense.............there is something you are not saying here and if there is a fault with BCM or hydraulic relay circuit/pump go fix it or change it.

Hi jack,
Sorry for making you confuse.

This R8 has been here for quite sometimes. There are 2 problems when this R8 first brought in:-
1. brake light is ON once turn on ignition switch without pressing brake pedal,
2. It can only drive with manual mode, gear shift will not operate when switch to auto drive mode.

We did the DTC with iSCAN3. Replaced brake switch but problem was not fixed. We then suspected it could be BCM faulty, but problem was still not resolved after replaced a new BCM unit.
Further to our diagnose we ended up encountered more error such as ECU unable to communicate. We been advised by 3rd party to further check on ECU and found burn mark on ECU circuit board as posted earlier. We got the ECU replaced and coded, have most of the fault codes cleared but still unable to start engine. We then decided to purchase VCDS and engaging in this forum to seek help from expertise here.

To answer your question, Yes the SVM is done during new ECU coding via ODIS.
