I've retrofitted power-folding mirrors and also on the right passenger side a mirror with memory, however I only have a power adjustable driver's seat without memory. It's been documented in a few places that in certain post (2008 I believe) Passats and MK5's that you can have mirror dip or mirror down in reverse gear if you have a memory module in the mirror.
I coded: 46 - Convenience Module-> Long Coding Helper->Byte 14 -> Bit 7
52-Door Elec. Passenger -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 1 -> =Bit 0 (note VCDS in the non-experimental coder for 52 says this is with or without seat memory)
I've operated my car with this for some time and it's worked fairly consistently, although I have found some issues where I need to reset the down and also the normal operating point periodically. However recently I now get an intermittent implausible signal - Position Sensor for Mirror Adjustment DTC as below.
I found that if I went into the MFI menu, turned off mirror down when reversing, then uncoded the door module as well as the convenience module, then turned it all back on, it disappeared. I was then able to operate it successfully, setting the down and the up position... until I put the car in reverse, then back into neutral, and let the car sit. Then the car just left the mirror in the down position and threw this DTC. WIth this DTC, the mirror down position seems to work ok, only sometimes, the mirror tends to move in reverse as well.
I've found some discussion on this exact issue on other forums - specifically odbeleven (apologies if I should not mention that here), and it seems like there is a coding tweak somehow to fix it. I'd really like to get this working properly if possible, hoping someone has seen this before? I mean, is there some other way to reset it, do I need to operate it through the whole range, etc.?
