can you let me know if this works for you? my 2016 polo gti isn't happy. (** Defrost flap is unplugged due to a very loud constant clicking that I cannot fix or even access) engine runs lumpy and rough since aircon problem

I'd suggest to do a basic setting of the AC motors in basic settings and see what errors return.

I plugged back in the defrost flap motor plug. It’s clicking again and ran basic settings as follows.

1. reset flap motors in basic. But it ends in unknown.
2. basic auto run in setting which won’t start with error: Conditions not correct or request sequence error

engine runs rough and jumpy with no aircon selected. I’m not sure if this is a compressor problem? But I don’t even hear the compressor or fan at all.

refrigerant pressure is 6.8bar
Status of basic setting: not yet started
Compressor speed 950/min
Compressor load 0.5Nm

Ok. I got a step further. I changed compressor run in adaption from 120s > 0120s and it accept. Then run basic setting run in. And it started with no error. Runs for 2 mins. Result says unknown. Then ends on not running.
Then I have same errors. And back to square . but I ran a log recorder and found the run in basic setting is reporting: cancelled due to detected malfunction

so maybe this is a mechanical problem

Next update. Left engine to idle. 20 mins. Came back. Redid basic test for run in. It worked!

still hvac screen flash when car is turned on...

i am considering removing the entire dash to try access the flap motor... but even then I’m not sure what I’m going to do.
Could this little flap motor be causing so much engine roughness due to a basic setting confusing hvac?

now stuck with just the 2 code.

Cheers for succeeding on clearing some errors.

Could you perhaps post a full scan so we can see anything else going on?
I'm not sure there is a connection between the defroster flap and the roughly running engine, but you never know...

Any speculation as to what could be the cause of these HVAC issues?

Will do. : ) I'm away for work now. the car is at home I have mostly 85% of the dash removed. and will remove steering wheel etc when I get another start on this. I will try to fix the flap motor as I feel it doesn't know its positions. Seems I'm not the only one, but here is a small fix guide!
with regards to the flashing of the hvac screen is when the engine went lumpy, which I have looked online and it represents a gas issue/wrong/low pressure. iv'e had this issue re gassed now to correct level and checked for leaks. all is good. I think the correct procedure of 1. Basic Flaps. needs to be finalised for a healthy hvac environment.

seems this guy is the trouble. 6R0 907 511C (friend at VW ran my VIN/ETKA)
