"Poor oil quality" means your car is set for fixed service intervals not variable.

So this would be normal all the time? Or should I make a change somewhere? I'm new to this much data, just starting to read and learn about a VW.

Normal all the time if you're on fixed interval servicing.

Normal. All NAR market cars are on fixed intervals from the factory.

Well, I truly know nothing about VW world. Acronyms like NAR.(I'm on my phone, no mouse to hover)
I tried to do the channel logs but freaked out, I thought I had done something stupid as I watched the laptop pouring out data for minutes. I tried to ESC and found about 26 log entries! I see now that it was accessing every module in the ECU? Wow so much to learn. I worked in the beginning of the digital telephone switches back in the early 80's. This Golf looks nearly as powerful as those mainframes! Hopefully you can tolerate my ignorance but I always am trying to learn new things to keep this old mind sane.
Thanks for your help.

NAR = North American Region, basically the USA and Canada.

There are 2 options for service intervals, variable and fixed. we usually leave ours on fixed intervals where the service reminder comes on at the mileage or date we set it to. variable is mostly Europe i belive, where they can pull upwards of 15,000- 30,000 kms or three years.

ultimately just remember the service reminder is not intelligent. the vehicle has no way of knowing when the service is really due, or if its been done.,
