Hi yall. What tips and advice do folks have for optimizing searches on the forums here for specific chassis? I try to search for 8E or A4 or B6 and the search function says too common. Specifically I am looking to just browse all the post that may have info on my favorite cars: 2004-2005 A4 1.8t USP cars. Thanks in advance!

Try something like:

The first part is the first two fields of a B6 Instrument cluster. The second part is the ECU part number w/o any suffix, but note that the ECU part number in that query is a 3.0 V6 (that we once had), and I don't know the 1.8T part number off the top of my head, so substitute yours for it.

None of those work in the forum search itself... still getting back the error messages saying that they are too common. I have never really tried to use an outside search engine for a forum before, is that what that duckduckgo is?

The forum's built-in search is better in the new XenForo software than on the old vBulletin software, but IMO, it still leaves much to be desired.

Yes. DuckDuckGo is a search engine much like Google, but without all the tracking.

There's also a Google search box on the main Ross-Tech home page that searches the forum, the Wiki, and the main Ross-Tech site. E.g:
https://www.ross-tech.com/Search-Results.html?q="8E0 920" "8E0 909 559"
