Really sorry to have taken so long to respond, my family unexpectedly flew me to Texas for the Thanksgiving holiday. We recieved the second unit last tuesday and my son tried to get it working to no avail. I got home yesterday and tried to start the car, the car cranks and the immobilizer activated light is flashing on the dash board, thats as far as I've gotten., Again sorry to have left you hanging . I will get the vag-com out and do a test to get that information and trudge forward.
NP

FYI:

That control unit was test fired before dispatch to operate an actual engine for 1 hour and with no immobilizer verified just like the first one.
The second one also had later firmware level.
The immobilizer light on dash would be normal & since a key is unmarried to the cluster or D2 is faulty.
Something else is wrong with the car and needs further investigation if not operating.
Could you please post a complete new auto-scan and try to verify the TV is adapted and that ignition outputs for terminal 15 are proper during cranking ( ignition switch ) for the waste spark coil pack + air and fuel + compression present in time?
That legacy issue was indeed reported to you on the TV for a DTC in forensics.

Update ! I looked at the connections and it is all good, clean, tight and secured, so on to the next subject. The engine appears to be lacking spark, makes perfect sense given the ECU error in the report.

I feel the need to chime in here with my 2 cents worth of knowledge. Sorry it won't be what the problem is....
Jack can be the biggest ass on the planet! LOL
But he is one of the most honest people I know!
If he said he tested it in a car believe me he did!
Soon he'll be on a plane to your house to prove it's the car. LOL
I also agree it's something very strange with your car?
My one and only point to this to tell you.
I promise you can trust Jack completely!

Good Luck

Perfect? :p
Shit happens and let us see if we can sort this, I'm sandbar deep in this already?

Hmmmm interesting.......version FOD!

Is your VCDS configured with tester number and WSC?
If not please do so.

Could you please attempt a recode to default the ECU with a re-coding and with a new WSC other than mine or zeros?
0x01-07-00033
Then please clear DTC's and tell me what is the status of the 0x01-08-060 TV is and DTC's 0x01-02?
Also 0x01-10-091?

+ a complete reboot with a known fresh battery or at least a verified charged one?

You sure this is todays scan?

Oh if the aforementioned is to no avail I'll indeed ship you another one!
I will run it with many terminal 15 flips to authenticate the stack, that is about all I can do from here.
If there is a terminal 15 issue with ignition switch or 0x46 CCM is with ingress or issues it will have to be sorted too if a track is damaged by backfeed.

If that is the case & ECU needed send cluster too I'll extinguish those other rouge key codes for you so the immobilizer light is gone.
You could always unplug the CCM to isolate and clear codes to 0x46 to find what is going on using WD or if just a weak battery.

Thanks Jack, I will try all of those suggestions and share the results. I did not have my VCDS configured the way you asked and it took me some time to decipher exactly what it is that you would like me to do but I think I have it. I do appreciate your willingness to help me through this situation and if it's like the other issues I normally face it will be something you've never heard of or at least of very rare occurrence. I had all my training when we troubleshot to the component level but did all the magic with diodes and relays so sometimes the computer address referrals throw me off. I do have a couple of ? before I head off. When creating a WSC can I create a fictitious # using the format that you gave as your number. Question #2 Is "recoding to default "an option somewhere or is it a separate operation ? Thanks again

Now to all those others who were so quick to convict and condemn; I understand the world is littered with scum and garbage but there are some really good people out there, Jack himself seems to be that kind of person. Please give yourself the chance to have those people in your life by exercising a little patience.

VW/Audi Dad, could you please do what Jack asked several posts back? He asked for an autoscan from the car.

One of things that is really hard for those us trying to help others is understanding why when we ask for information, people fail to give it. An Autoscan is the most basic function of the VCDS tool. It gives us a clear picture of what the electronics think is happening in the car. In Jack's post above, he is practically begging for you to give him information by which he could continue helping you. And yet....

Why do people get impatient? Because others do not choose to do as asked. That is what vwtech is upset by and frankly, I get it. Both Jack and vwtech are awesome and have immense knowledge on fixing these cars.. Why would any choose to frustrate them when they are trying to help? Doesn't make sense to me...

I am a dad and an old guy... who used to use diodes and troubleshoot to the chip/gate/transistor/diode level. Bet we might be similar in age.. did you start your career in the late 60's early 70's?

I did an auto scan and posted it several posts back, Patience. I have not questioned anyone's integrity in fact I am very comfortable dealing with Jack I feel he is a very nice person that is going out of his way to help me. Why people feel the need to chime in on his behalf is a little confusing. I have a very hectic life trying to juggle many balls at this time and though it may seem like I am taking my sweet time responding, you would be surprised at all that is taking place in my world during that time. I will try to get these requests completed within the next few days as time allows but please don't attack me by insinuating that I am not complying with Jack's requests, I am doing my best, please believe that. I started my electronics education in the USN in 79.

I went out to preform the tests today and the battery is below minimum requirements so I put it back on the charger. It will take overnight to charge, I'll get back to you.

OMG What an ordeal, lol I did what I think you wanted me to do I went to and looked at the voltage and noted it was at 12.3 volts, I looked at the status of the TV and it was OK pass I tried to put a wsc in and it recorded it but it does not show up on the scan and now it won't give me an option to change it.

If I missed something please let me know, I am giving this my best shot. I bought this computer to do the vag com but I have very little in the way of software on it because it is XP and I don't trust it online. If I have to I could download the software to allow for remote assist, I could sure use the help of my computer genius daughter about now! I do think I was able to accomplish the tasks you asked however frustrating and confusing the process so I am learning, thank you for your patience once again.

Just Checking in, I have made some headway into getting done what you previously requested. I do not have the Bently and with the mortgage coming up I don't see the funds available right now so I will just have to research the web until I find what I need. I think I looked at the site you indicated and either I am too stupid to see what is right in front of me or I was looking in the wrong place, both are possible. This car has had all those codes in the Ox46 address for as long as I have VAG-COM I can't explain it other than to say we have had this car for more than three years and it has never been an issue. Hopefully this will keep the wolf pack at bey for a day or two until I feel comfortable with proceeding into what I consider dangerous territory ( coding) right now I am trying to find the access code that I need? Thanks for your time and patience.
