Hello, another newbie here.

So, i have ATD pd engine, ecu and cluster from 2003 Golf installed to Golf mk2.
I bought VCDS recently and tried to check things are ok.
I cannot acces to 03-ABS Brakes "No response from controller".
I have CAN connected to ecu, cluster, obd port and abs module.
VCDS does not find CAN either.
I can acces for example to 01-engine and 17-Instruments.
Car has now mark20 ABS from some random golf, bought used, so that can fail too, but i doubt, because this project is made by me, so all fails are possible.
Does that abs communicate by k-line or does it really need that CAN?
Fuses and wires are checked several times.

An MK60 can go either way. If it is from an Mk.4 car, it will do diagnostic communications via K-Line. If it is from an Mk.5 car, then it will want to do diagnostic communications via CAN.

That i know it is from mk4. So it should communicate via K-Line, but i do not understand why not.

Sorry, you said MK20. For some reason I had it in my mind that this was an MK60. MK20 is (to the best of my knowledge) always K-Line.

Double-check power, ground, and K-line connections to it.
