Can not ready?

I have been using my Hex/Can USB cable with great joy for 15 years or so. Now I can't get it talk to car. I can try a different vehicle, but I think the software is my issue. Do I need to pay to use the cable that worked yesterday before software change?

I ordered a new cable and agreement for 10 vin's. I hope I can get the car fixed since it is blocking my shop entrance.

What was the year make and model of the car you plugged into? Non CAN based cars will say "can not ready."
