Hi all, looking for some guidance.

I have a 1.4 Polo 6N2 Rally Car. Its an original VW built Group N Polo Challenge and I have a number of 'faults' I would like to get rid of. I am not sure if the ECU was changed at some point as I cant image they would compete with these lights on!

As its a rally car it does not have any airbags (Rally seats, OMP steering wheel) and it has no airbag controller. Can I get rid of this fault/light? It also doesn't have ABS so again can this be disabled.

There are some other faults relating to the Lambda sensor that also needs looking. Sensors have been physically replaced.

Thanks Kevin

Hello Kevin
With the oxygen sensors, trace wiring from ECU connector to the sensor connectors. Since it’s rally car they may have been modified or deleted.
For the ABS and cluster codes, from a theoretical point of view, if you change the coding in the CAN gateway you could remove ABS option. Samewith engine and cluster modules.
But noting that VWhas not produced nonABS cars for a while, they might not have these options.

From your description, your car seems pretty roughed up, in my opinion I would strip the cluster and butcher the LEDs 🙈

Thanks for the advice. We believe we have manged to resolve the Lambda issues, cable connector fault and this also removed all Engine Management lights. We still have the error codes for ABS and Airbag. But as we have no lights I am not too bothered about that,

18057 - Powertrain Data Bus P1649 - 35-00 - Missing Message from ABS Controller
18044 - Powertrain Data Bus P1636 - 35-00 - Missing Message from Airbag Controller

Cheers Kevin

Hello Kev
How did you go with removing the remaining errors? Did you change coding like Martin recommended? Did it work?
