Retrofit Lane-Assist in Passat B6

I recently retrofitted a lane and sign assist camera (B8) version in my B6 that is partly B7
Changed front screen to B7 type with holder. Mounted the camera and coded all.
After that with ODIS calibrated the unit into my car. Now the sign assist is functioning but lane assist will not work. one fault stays.
Have tried several things, recoding also complete canbus sleep

I'm now suspecting 2 things.
one is canbus wire with a hi or low defect wire or my steering rack with old firmware
who can help me out.

Your steering rack is suitable for the A5 camera, though using A5 software newer than 654F could be risky, I remember.

Since you have the old cable, it won't tell what the extended UDS fault detail is.

Autonomous braking AWV is what it's complaining about. Coding issue with A5 camera?

We did the same retrofit in several other Passats B6 and B7 whithout any problems. This is the first where we encountered this issue.

The autonomous breaking, is that refering to ACC?

Yes, but the camera is used to complement the AWV. Pedestrian detection for example is done with camera if the ACC is not capable for it. If I remember correctly Continental 3Q0 ACC is capable of pedestrian detection whereas 2Q0 isn't.

So maybe there's now a mismatch on coding, that is what I'm after?

The ACC is then the suspect.
One of the B6 with working lane assist doesn't have ACC
The others are B7 with 3AA radar
my ACC radar is also 3AA type but flashed back to 3C0

pedestrian detection is off in coding

I also checked adaptations in the Camera, but there is nothing that is refering to pedestrian.
The checkbox for radar interface active is unchecked (byte 14 bit 0)

What else can I check or what in coding could be the issue?

I think I found the issue. The ACC must be at least B7 type.
Tonight I removed fuse of ACC and uncoded acc back to normal cruisecontrol.
Then no errors. After test drive the Lane Assist function works.
So I have to flash my ACC module back to 3AA version.

Thanks, I also double checked coding. Could not find anything that gave the solution.
Then I deleted ACC and LA. Came to life.
First I’m going on a road trip then when I’m home I will flash my ACC radar to 3AA sw.
Only thing that will be less good is the follow to stop function.

You could go the extra mile and change ABS and EPB to 3AA

Though I don't know how the engine and 3C0 CECM will react.

For changing to 3AA ABS, do I have to change breake line also or is that part plug&play?

3AA ABS swap uses the same brake lines.
However it needs the newer 3-way rocker style switch for EPB unless you can get to Moscow to have the ABS software modified to allow use of the older B7 style push button.

Yes 3AA EPB. If you already have the 3AA switch then you are good to swap over the 3AA ABS

Today I had the time to flash my ACC radar back to 3AA version. Lane Assist is now working. and the normal ACC function is also working perfect.
Only the follow to stop I have to check how it will behave now.
So this mod is for now finished. Can check this flag.
