So a couple of years ago my ac stopped blowing cold air in my 2003 audi a4 cabrio. I took it to a shop since i didnt know anything about ross tech or vag.com. i thought it could be an actuator motor issue since i had that another car. They told me it was the compressor and said everything else was fine. It was over 1700 to replace. Fast forward to now and its not a big deal with the ac since its a cabrio. But i scanned it jusy to be sure and i got multiple hvac codes. I replaced the g36 sensor just to go give.it a shot. I still am getting codes for the v159 part and v71 part. Could the issue be simple electrical partd as stated.in vag.com or should i trust the compressor is bad? Are there specific tests for the compressor directly or does it meed.to be visually inspected. I realize there are multiple components to.the ac system. But the.electrical parts.could also affect the heat. Any insight would be great.

Faults Found:

01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) 41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent
00975 - Heated Rear Window (Z1) 31-00 - Open or Short to Ground
00825 - Drivers Seat Heating Element (Z6) 31-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent

00819 - High Pressure Sensor (G65) 30-00 - Open or Short to Plus

Please post an auto-scan and see the RTFB for testing of tracks or sensors.

Did you know all these things can be easily tested or qualified to see if they took a Schmitz by standard test methods and search terms of G sensors or N, Z or V actuators in the RTFB WD?

I no longer have the g65 sensor error as i replaced that. I have the rtfb. There is nothing about the compressor specifically at least that i.could.find.

I am just curious if the shop did all the testing. Its an audi repair place so.i would hope so but i was just wondering if you ever hear of shops screwing people over.

There are good people and bad people everywhere, are there not and some people really don't give a Schmitz about their job ethic right some even unwittingly from poor taught environment or just plain lazy?

Have you considered a set of gauges to check PSI and a manual electrical and mechanical test of compressor clutch or drive engagement depending on application?

Did you know often I found the compressor flat unplugged at service connector by power steering tank or down low by some negating work ethic failing to put back during service position?

What is the condition of this track and back to relay and is relay good & if not is it due to a weak ground to compressor or maybe interrupt & from a temp switch if supported?

Show me you have an understanding of WD and post a screenshot....

I will have to check the pressure as ross says my pressure is too low based on the data. When i first start the air the econ button stays off but as it runs the econ buttin turns on and i get the signal too low for the g65 sensor and i get the #3 for the compressor code.

Well get busy and come back with aforementioned if you want to proceed with track traces together.
