I did a some work on the car during previous weeks: replaced battery, replaced front brake discs and pads (rear i will do one of these days), replaced petrol and LPG injectors (so no more hard starting in warm condition now, no more petrol smell while hot starting and no more problems with bad exhaust gas values: it is now simply running great), ... so a lot of things have been disconnected and a lot of DTC's have been stored.
Auto scan was completed succesfully after these works, but offcourse it was full of stored DTC's so i cleared them and made a new one today after approx. 260 KMs (approx. 175 miles) of driving: plse see below.

Offcourse this 17y old car still has some issues (f.e. further tweaking of LPG corrections, ...), but most important for now is a binding/shaking feeling in slow, hard cornering in high gear (driving forward or backward), much better or even abcent in low gear.
Following 2004 VW tech bulletin (nr. 04-02) i think that i should consult VW to check software in Transfer Box control module ...
Some extra info on scan: rear seats and safety belts where removed bij previous owner to make room for a large LPG tank: i don't need them, being single, but this perhaps explains some issues on the scan. I will adress to them later, most important remaining problem now is the "binding": any questions or suggestions would be very welcome :)

I know there are a lot of threads about drivetrain binding in Touareg, been reading them :)
Until now i didn't find a sollution for my problem ...
I have the VW TB https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wrEw7I1Ye2nmAeLUgM9kgG81lJWVjnNk/view?usp=sharing
But my VIN 3D006640 is not in the specified VIN-range
My car also does not meet the test requirement: if i make slow speed hard corner in High Gear it binds, does not dissapear when going to Low Gear without shifting to Neutral
When stoppping while doing this cornering in High gear and going to Low Gear, shifting to Neutral and back to Drive and resume cornering the binding dissapears
I even think that afterwards the binding remains abcent for a while in High Gear
Steppenmotor on Center Diff is 0AD341601A as stated in the TB
VCDS states that Transfer Box Control Module is 0AD927755BE, not 0AD927755AB as stated in TB
Any suggestions :o?

I just saw that in the complete scan, there is only 1 control module that does not have a label file:

Address 22: AWD Labels: None
Part No: 0AD 927 755 BE
Component: TRANSFERCASE 0122
Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000
VCID: 7F5AFB85EBEA0F232B9-5184

No fault code found.

Could this mean anything in regard to the drivetrain binding?

Hmm ... i've done some extra reading and if i'm correct a missing label file is not causing a problem
Just makes it more difficult to code a module: correct?
In the scan there is no coding visible for Address 22 so i wonder: is this module codeable at all?

Correct ;)

Correct - no coding shown means the module cannot be coded - but that doesn't mean there might not be any adaptation channels :thanks:

Also difficult to interpretate measuring blocks :p
Thx. PetrolDave: i'll dive into reading about adaptation channels :)

Then address 22 has no coding or adaptation changes possible - it is what it is :D

:):thanks:
I will have the software version in the module checked and post the result as soon as it's done!

Btw.: the binding problem, for as far as i know can have more than 1 reason, but it certainly originates in a choice VW made building the cars: they use the same transfer box as the Porsche Cayenne: a differential ment to distribute power something like 38/62% as was what Porsche wanted.
VW wanted 50/50% and instead of using a different differential VW forces the differential to act as a 50/50 by means of software in the control module ...

But ... i just found out that the software version is displayed in VCDS: it is version 0122
Does onyone know if a more recent version exists, please?

So i didn't go for the software strategy and ordered a new T/C motor: i'll post an update as soon as it's in the car :)

What do you guys think would happen if one disconnected both connectors on the Transfer Case Motor for a test drive?
Would this cause problems or could it be a way to test it?

Need help again ...
I replaced TC motor 0AD341601A with this one, easy job: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07GNZR5FP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Car runs great now, no more binding and is clearly in High Gear mode
But ... on dash i get this singn (not a real picture, but same sing), stating system fault: https://photos.app.goo.gl/TFajf5XBZL1m5yfL8
4WD shifting button blinking @ 3 arrows: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XAz6QAq1nSi5SMqP8
And not willing to shift to Low Gear or Lock
Until i clear DTC's, than it reacts , but immediately returns to previous state ...
DTC's: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BJc1bHEDgdx5dT4SA
None of these DTC's where present with the original TC motor, but then there was the binding problem ...
Now: i assumed that i have softwere 0122: https://photos.app.goo.gl/puF87ahEMHEypj2cA
But VCDS also shows me: https://photos.app.goo.gl/B2M2TX4rPrA3Mhvq5
0122 is the latest software, as stated by Uwe, but do i have 0122 or 0101 ?

I'm not sure what the "P0101" is all about in the Advanced ID section, but I'm confident you have software version 0122.

Little follow-up: when i put the 4WD selection knob in high gear, clear adress 22 DTC'S and leave the car in high gear
than all is great: no more drivetrain binding at all, no dash warnings no flashing on the knob, no DTC's :)
So the problem i wanted to solve seems solved.
But as soon as i try to engage low gear or centre lock: warnings on dash and knob and DTC's + car stays in high gear: no low gear or lock
Adress 22 DTC's (which where not there with the old motor) are all sensor related and only appear when i put the 4WD selection knob out of high gear
If anyone has an idea ... im listening haha

Hmm, i just learned that all of the sensors that cause the DTC's reside inside of the TC motor :confused::confused:

I'm puzzled ... Ross-Tech provided me with a German label file for J646 and all seems ok, then i checked all wires between J646 and V253: continuity is ok
And still i get the 02039 / 008 DTC every time i shift back from low gear to high gear ...
Remains a problem with the 8-pin potentiometer inside V253 or a problem with control module J646 for V253: correct?
