I have a Golf that has been suffering from flat battery issues, possibly Covid related and therefore lack of use.
As I had alarm horn issues, I replaced that, experience shows that these often cause problems.
I also had no comms with rear left door module but customer did not want to buy a new one due to cost. She was aware of the central locking not working on that door but wasn't bothered about it, she just failed to tell me about it beforehand! Of course, I had already investigated the problem by then and when I plugged the door module back in it worked for just enough time to log a door open message and the interior light was now staying on. because of the "I didn't want to spend that much effect" and the "it wasn't doing that before it came to you" problem, I bought a used one, fitted and coded it. More to confirm that it was the module and not the wiring than anything else. That now works fine.
The problem I have is that the right rear window goes down when commanded up and vice versa. I simply can't remember if I tried that window when it came in. It seems that this is a relatively common problem with no easy remedy and can be caused by flat battery issues. I just want to be sure in my own mind that it is not related to what I have done with the other door. The coding of this window appeared wrong as well and I corrected that easily enough.
Is there anything that can be done using VCDS or should I replace the motor? Seems stupid to have to change the hardware to fix a software fault though.
