AUDI A8 2009 (Acc/Start Auth controller issue - not responding/can't scan

Hello:

Posting here to get some assistance as to what the issue could be. Earlier this afternoon, I noticed the MIL on (not blinking), so rushed back to scan the car. I did notice the P2189 error - Bank 2; System too Lean at Idle. However, what's more troubling is that VCDS can not access a number of modules - error is module "cannot be reached" , even though I confirm that the doors are unlocked. This was persistent even after I cleared the P2189 error. This is the very first time I am encountering this error. Another observation is that with these errors - I am unable to generate a complete scan; VCDS hangs/doesn't respond or is not able to connect to controllers - not sure what else to try; I'd like to do some more troubleshooting/diagnostics before taking the car in to the shop. Is this a VCDS version issue?

I replaced the battery in the key fob but still cannot scan/connect to module 05.

I will like to rollback the VCDS update.....how can I get the prior version? I want to be sure this is unrelated to the interface (HEX+CAN) or version.

What do you mean you can't scan 05? It's plainly there in both scans you posted.

The inability to complete scans strikes me as more likely to be a PC problem; USB subsystem going to sleep? Make sure USB Selective Suspend is disabled as shown here.

If you wish to try an previous version, let me know which version you were using previously. However, we have no other reports like that, so I really doubt that this is the problem.'

Hello Uwe, I should have elaborated. The scan stops (hangs) when it gets to module 05... I always have to hit the cancel button for the autoscan to proceed / abort. (If you notice, it doesnt say "no fault code found". I have a Windows 10 laptop; will try the USB Selective Suspend workaround to see if it works and report back.
