Everything works no errors on dash but the brake lights go off on the corresponding turn signal side
Just want normal "Rest of the world" functionality. Not the US functionality

Have you confirmed that US and EU wiring is identical? Otherwise i would suggest you to check this out:

Also i noticed comparing coding that you have option +0002048 = SAE Rear Lights (PR-A8U) in coding, so i would suggest you to try out coding: 46654

Well the pin outs are this as I have tested with volt meter and 12v LEd kit

So the brake light control coding must be controlling the weird behaviour/behavior of the brake lights (off when that side is signalling)

Anyone know where to mess with brake light coding???? I am guessing ROW would be "0" ?!?!!?

I did - nothing happened AT ALL
This is simple coding. I am not required to enter a password or anything am I???
it took the number. Code accepted. Just nothing. I also tried deleting the SAFE-motor - still nothing
back to code 0048702.

See below though. I had a long chat with Jeff Danewood. he thinks it could be a firmware difference in the U vs EU comfort control module
It may accept the code but cannot apply it..

Who holds the copyright to such firmware? With what tool do you expect someone to get that firmware? With what tool do you propose to install it?

Normally there is a flash chip or a 22 pin eeprom
They are simple to copy. I have a chip duplicator here for firmware for many different boards.
Just a thought that someone else is nerdy as well. As for that quirk. I think the car was not running. Or I had the tail lights disconnected.

Audi FLASH discs, download them and look for your part number, maybe you get lucky. If there was no update, then probably you will not.

Does anyone think I am chasing my tail on this???? There has got to be someone here that works for Audi that might have some insight or at least know who to ask.
My audi service guy is smart. he lived in germany and actually built Audis in the factory (legally!) but he has no idea on the electronics/firmware side. Does anyone think that i just purchased the European convenience module it would do the trick. The European one doesn't seem to be THAT different. And for $70 it may be a lot less hassle than poking around the net... Comments???

DO I need to enter a password before coding. I dropped the number from 0048702 to 46654 before (down 2048 to remove SAE tail lights) and it did nothing
I saw somewhere you had to enter the password before doing this. What would be the password for an Audi A8L US 2007? Perhaps I should try that. Also read you had to enter it several times to take???? Is this right??? Doesn't sound right to me....
These damned tail lights will be the death of me.

DID IT. FIXED.... OK. It was the -2048 for SAE tail lights. Now the lights behave exactly European/ROW. But the code had to be entered about 6 times one time after another. Then turn car off. Waited about 30 minutes and it took. I also turned on option 64 to allow me to wind windows down with key.
Anyone know how to make them go back up again?? I saw the coding somewhere but cannot find it again
deducted SAFE-Motor also but going to reinstall it as it disabled the back-up camera unless there is a fix for that too?

Done
Entered code -2048 not +2048 to take out SAE Tail lights and it set it to Euro. Took entering new code 6 times and powered off car for 30 mins and it took
Hallelujah !

Does SAFE-Motor control the back up camera? Somehow mine got disabled.

I left it overnight and that is when it took
I am wondering if there has to be a complete power reset. That is maybe pull the fuse then plug it back in.
On servers that I sell when you do a firmware update you have to do a complete POWER CYCLE. That is UNPLUG the server and let sit to dissipate the power.

I am going to go check the coding again. I did also change the Keyless window opening (64) bit 1 and Bit 2 to allow keyfob open and close.
I also noticed that something had turned off 6C (the trunk lid electronics). Re-checked it so 6C and 6D are enabled. Still nothing.
