Hi all!
And please bare with me, just realised I may joined the wrong forum for this, so please be gentle if its not appropriate.
Im retrofitting OEM bixenons on my 2011/2012 B7 (EU) Passat, and found some useful info here ln this forum, hence why i joined, only to learn that its for VCDS owners only(?)
Anyhow; Here is where im at a loss, cause every retrofit ive read is almost different, several are NMS Passat, and the two other ive found, are EU passats, but NON-DCC.
My car has DCC, so the sensor at the rear control arm is present, and I have the kufatec 10-14pin headlight harness.
The OEM lights are so-called AFS lights?
Bought them used from my dealer, who had a rear ended passat, so i got them for cheap.
My dealer is also going to code for me, but they had no clue what I needed.
But have I understood right regarding this?
-I have the OEM HID lights, and i have the 10-14 wiring adapter.
So the lights should mount just fine.
But ive read something about when coding the lights, the bumper-cornering circuit will become my shutter signal for the xenons?
Or do I just use the original high beam signal for shutters?
Or do i have to wire them to BCM/BECM or something?
And regarding the AFS part of the lamps, what do i need except the AFS module itself?
Does the adaptive part of them get info via can/steering wheel angle and so on, and/or what signals do the AFS module need to get?
And is the sensor at rear used on DCC sending signals via CAN? So no wiring needed there to get autoleveling?
My dealer did really not have a clue on how to retrofit this, so the mounting and wiring im doing myself (im a truck mechanic).
And they will only do the coding.
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but Norway kinda suck for reference on retrofitting, and not many guys do coding, so not much help there either..
