2013 RS4 Wingback Seat Retrofit

[RS11SMS]

I have retrofitted OEM Wingback seats which were a factory option but not installed in my car originally. Have successfully resolved the issue with the seat airbags however I still have codes and airbag light due to the new seats not having position sensors. The original seats were electric movement, new wingbacks are not (just electric for bolsters)

As the seats were a factory option I assume there must be coding to confirm this which should disable the position sensors, would anyone have access to this information please

I've not seen any real coding info for those airbag modules. The Coding in them seems to be an ASCII string expressed as a hexadecimal value. My guess is that the equipment is determined using a separate parameter table rather than coding.

If it were mine, I think I would look for some electrical means of making the module believe the position sensors are present.

Take the sensors off the old seats and wire them back into the loom so the car knows they are there. Whether or not they will be looking for comparison values against its stored values is unknown

You can buy the loom with the sensors on it but they are £50 per seat. but it needs to connect into the sensor, seat occ mat, belt buckle etc so you must have that partial loom already there but missing the section for the position sensor part

Thanks, will look into this further. I have identified one pin on the black plug where there is no wire but a pin in the male side in the car. Wondering whether there is a way to utilise this and resolve as it looks to be the only pin without anything connected to it

Rather than guess what the function of that pin is, would it not be a good idea to buy a 1 hour subscription to the Audi erWin website and download all the WD for your RS4 as pdf files?
Then not only you would know for sure what the function is of that pin, but you would have the information for future problem solving?

I doubt you will be able to pin it out or something as the sensor looks like a hall sensor or similar defo not a microswitch

I've downloaded all the WD's I could find that were relative to the seats but can't find anything that references the 'Seat Position Sensor' , any ideas where I should be looking?
