My 2003 Passat's door locks and power windows are intermittently not working. The Scan tells me there is a fault in the wiring or CCM. Does any body have any ideas were to start? Not sure if I should chase down the wiring or if do to the amount of communication errors just start with replacing the CCM?

2003 Passat... time to find out how much water is under the carpet. You don't have to pull the seats out, just push them all the way back, pull out the lower A and B pillar trim pieces, then carefully pop out the door still trim, then you can push the carpet up and see your new fish tank. :)

Agreed. Even if the module itself is dry you'll want to pull up the harness

.. and remove the tape to expose any corroded splices so they can be repaired.

If that car has a sunroof make sure to verify the drains don't still have the restricted ends on them. Photos of the cause of the above damage are in this thread: https://forums.ross-tech.com/showth...lt-of-water-damage&p=9066&viewfull=1#post9066

Unfortunately, the floor boards were bone dry with no signs of prior wetness. It is a desert car and doesn't see much rain. Is there any other test to make before I replace the CCM? any way to test the CCM directly considering there appears to be no communication with it at all?

Did you know the CCM maybe dry, however, the wiring under the tape in chemical bond is most likely corroded from it's own incompatibly & during its useful life it fails to comport for, well it only insights corrosion and water only exacerbates it?
