Hey guys/gals,
I have a 2012 A4 Avant prestige. It had the standard base level seating and I wanted the S-line style sport seats. I found a set exactly as I wanted, same match in leather to the rest of the interior (they are B8, but i do not know what year). They look mint, with an occasional blemish in the leather, underside of seat is also in great shape (no evidence of damage, flooding, or other bad mojo).
I swapped them out, fit is perfect and was all plug-n-play......so I thought. All the same connectors and hardware, so mechanically its all good. All of the power motors work (all the same as the seats that came out), and the heated seats work mint too. But now I have AirBag light and parking brake malfunction warning.
I am armed with a VCDS, but am kind of a noob. The car had no faults prior to swap. Now I have 1 code in each of the following control modules: Airbag, ABS, Seat Memory, and Parking brake. I am guessing it has something to do with the seats control module and here is my logic...No seat, or nobody sitting in seat, the car thinks its unsafe to release parking brake so it throws a code, because parking brake has a code that throws a code to ABS because it is linked to the brake system. No seat throws code for seat memory, no seat throws code for airbag.
ABS Fault is 00473
Airbag Fault is 9445973/B1022
Seat Memory is 02095
Parking Brake is 01321
Based on the codes I think it is a recognition issue, do I need to "recode" the seat module somehow, or recode something else to get the errors to go away? I would think that here have been dozens of seat swaps like this, but I cannot find any other info on the forum for this specific issue, my 2012 is low mileage, had nothing wrong before the seat swap, all that was done was the front seats removed and replaced with another set.
Anybody with ideas?
Thanks in advance
