Having my fourth vaccine next week.

I had my 3 in 2021, then got COVID in early 2022 mere weeks after my 3rd and final jab. Had a positive test and everything to confirm.

Figure having genuinely had it after being vax'd, my immunity ought to be plenty good for the longer term.

I like to think that having had a recent booster at the time of infection, it made my experience with the virus rather mild. Was weird to lose taste and smell for a few days, but was otherwise a nothingburger for me. Co-worker that got the same strain the same week (in fact, I probably got it from him) had his butt kicked way worse than I did. Unvaxxed.

Correlation isn't always causation, but still... I had one day where I felt just a little meh, but at no point did anything about it feel severe to me.

Had a cold a few months later, tested negative for COVID that time, and it kicked my butt way worse and lasted for weeks. heh

When I had the flu about ten years ago, it floored me for weeks; I have never felt worse. Mrs Crasher came home from work three days in a row saying it didn’t look like I had moved since the morning. I had COVID the third time about a month ago and it was a bit like man flu although the subsequent brain fog has been annoying but is clearing.

I don't know what's happening there, but here, shortly after the end of the vaccination campaign, an endless series of deaths began which the "single thought" is quick to dismiss as simply inexplicable..

If I took three shots that were claimed to be "vaccines" against a particular disease and still got the disease, I'd be asking some questions. ;)

And IIRC, you've had three shots as well.

Gosh, it's almost like the more of these shots a person took, the more likely they are to get COVID over and over again. In fact, there was a peer-reviewed study of over 50,000 people by the Cleveland Clinic that showed exactly that, but of course the "fact checkers" immediately shouted it down, with "It's only an observational retrospective study, not a randomized controlled trial," and "It only shows correlation, not causation; there could be other factors that influenced these results." Yeah, sure.

Well, most vaccines are considered excellently effective if they have a ~70% rate of preventing disease... I think COVID MRNA vaccines got very overstated saying they were 90+% effective, and then of course different strains come out and the vaccines are no longer as effective against those as they were designed more specifically against earlier strains.

It's not something I desire to continually immunize myself against given that there *are* some noted risks associated with some brands of the vaccine.

Not to mention, after having both had the disease plus being vaxxed, there was good data to support that I should have better long-term immunity than those who've never had COVID and have just had vaccines.

It also seems as the virus continues to mutate and widespread immunity has been achieved, the virus is less threatening overall, which was also kind-of expected.

I still maintain that having been vaxx'd not long before contracting the virus, it absolutely made my experience with it a lot more mild than my unvaxx'd co-worker. He legitimately felt like death while I felt pretty good by day 2 from onset of symptoms, just weird having lost taste and smell. Everything was pretty much back to normal a week later.

My girlfriend who lives with me, also got her last booster in 2021 the same day I did, never seemed to contract the virus despite sleeping in the same bed that whole week. Go figure. I joked she must have some kind of ginger supper-immunity or something.

Crazy ass red heads.

Unfortunately, the ideological basis is sadly simple: creating a vaccine against COVID (and not only) has a value of billions of euros, so whether it is effective or not becomes a negligible detail.

Covid like the influenza virus is capable of mutating rapidly.

Annual influenza vaccinations are required to tackle the mutations that the antibodies the body generates from an earlier vaccine no longer recognise. Do you have a problem with annual influenza vaccinations?

The same is true for the mutations that Covid makes, hence why multiple Covid vaccinations leave people open to infections from a new mutation.

The solution for both these viruses, and many others, is to develop a vaccine that is not dependent on recognising the surface features of the virus and hence is capable of tackling mutations - but medical science has yet to work oput how to do this...

Depends what you consider a "problem". Do I take them? Nope. Nor have I had anything that felt like influenza since 1992. But I'd certainly have a problem if someone tried to restrict my life because I choose not to take them.

You guys down under taking shots didn't see this? Of course it's fake you can't defend it any other way.

The real question that should be asked is why this kind of data (anonymized to protect individuals' privacy of course) isn't made publicly available for scrutiny by anyone who wants to analyze it? What conclusion can we possibly draw from that fact alone, and/or from the fact that they're prosecuting those who did publish it?
