Hello. I'm looking to retrofit Homelink on my new Q3. So far, I've found the following parts:

4K0 907 681 - holding bracket
N90 436 903 x 2 - screws
4M0 973 705 - PIN connector
4N0 907 410 B - control unit

Does anybody have any clue what are pins 4/5 about ? They link to R278 (programming aerial for garage door opener), which looks like an antenna, but I cannot find anything related, so I can buy one, maybe some part numbers.

From the fitting and locations section, it's also in read bumper. Also, looking at some SH parts, I can see all 5 wires going out ... so they are going somwhere, just no clue where that is exactly.

Thank you very much!

I'm not familiar with the VC2 Garage door opener system but I located a 2019 Q3 (F3BCEA) NAR market scan with maps in our internal files that Peter obtained from a new Q3 at his local dealer with factory fitted VC2 using:

Saturday,10,August,2019,10:31:42:01617

Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) Labels: None
Part No SW: 5Q0 937 085 BT HW: 5Q0 937 085 BG
Component: BCM MQBAB HNA H38 0273
Serial number: 00001912800338
Coding: 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Shop #: WSC 06385 790 00016

Garage door opener control module:
Subsystem 4 - Part No SW: 4N0 907 410 B HW: 4M0 907 410 A
Component: USHL5 H10 0100
Coding: 250000

I don't know if you can use a NAR VIN with RoW ErWin (you can with a RoW PL24 account) but if you feel as though info from this vehicle may be helpful please ping Support via e-mail with a link to this thread. I would need to touch base with him before posting the info online in forum since this isn't a vehicle that we purchased.

In the meanwhile I located 4N0 907 410 B *4M0 907 414 A* (Sensor Line for garage door opener) but I can only find it in the parts catalog under a Q7. I cannot locate that under the Q3 at all so I'm not extremely confident the number is correct.

Edit, searching for the VIN of the mentioned baseline vehicle didn't work because Peter xx'd it out:

https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?19771-2019-Audi-Q3-quattro-2-0L-NAR-Scans-and-Maps

In hindsight, I should have searched for VIN-specific ABS coding!

Hei Dana! Thanks for the info!

I think you meant 4M0 907 414 A as the sensor line. Was so confused when you said you found something (and then pasted the control unit part number :D). Anyway, after some more digging, I found that part myself (for the Q7 that you've already mentioned).
So, I started looking in erWin for the E-TRON, which has the same software-based garage door controllers, I found it to be located separately (between read seats), here.
Now I know for sure those wires don't connect anywhere, they just end in some sort of "antenna" (hence, the aerial naming with R278 in it's name).

After some more head scratching, I've found this Q5 Homelink Retrofit.
And based on this picture, since the guy only ordered yellow lines, it seems that when ordering 4M0 907 414 A, you get the entire connector (4M0 973 705), which I've mentioned in my initial post, based on this image I've found here.

I assume this sensor line works just fine ... given it's the same control unit, outputing the same data to the same type of sensor.
Diagrams wise, the difference between the "old" Q5 (containing the roof console control unit) and the new Q3 can be seen here.

Also, I've pinged Kufatec regarding their e-tron homelink kit. Asked if it's the same as with another one of their kits, eg. 4M0 907 414 A, and if it comes fitted with a 4M0 973 705 at the end. Because if it does, it means it's the same thing.

I'll start ordering the parts from VW, and buy some spare parts control unit, as it's not worth 500 USD, and will give it a go, when I'll have some time.
Regards!

EDIT - Q5 Retrofit guy has confirmed my theory. Now just waiting for Kufatec to confirm the R278 (sensor line) part number for the E-TRON, because if they are the same, then it's a wrap.

I ordered 4M0907414A. This is the connector including the antenna. For me the best solution because the antenna cable is mounted waterproof inside the connector,
If you order only 4M0973705 I think it is the connector without antenna.
I don't know what is the part number only for the antenna cable

Yes, my PC didn't copy/paste properly (which happens at times when I have a VM open) I did mean 4M0 907 414 A as you pointed out!

I couldn't locate a Q3 SSP but all of the other models with search results for R278 were in fact on the floor or in-between seats. I believe you have this wrapped up as well.

After trying to order the parts from Kufatec (since it would have been around 100E cheaper), it took me a month and a half to charge back my money, as they never actually delivered, nor did they bother updating me with the order's situation. So then I ordered them directly from VW, and, luckily for me, it costed only 20E more (600E total).

Anyway, after a week, parts just arrived (today). From left to right, sensor line, bracket, control unit (homelink) and the bolts to tighten the bracket in, here

They all come together like this

Now, we need some wiring done.
Pin 1 x Fuse SB20 (20 amps) (There is a 17 pin connector (T17d), which has an empty slot (10), and there's where our 1st Pin from the connector ends up.
Pin 2 x Ground
Pin 3 x LIN Bus

Will come back with some preliminary coding and testing (before installation) to see how it all goes.

Side question, does anybody know why in some Q3 F3 HomeLink setup videos, you're asked to keep the keyfob next to the rearview mirror when setting up homelink? Should there be any sensor? I have not seen anything in the wiring diagrams about it.

Regards.

Quick question, based on this diagram. From my experience, that LIN Bus pin slot should already be used, as I don't think it's purely assigned for homelink.

If so, is there anywhere else I can get to it throughout the car, like a coupling point, or am I mistaken and it is purely for homelink. When I worked on my Polo, the WDs for VW had the slots assignments for the BCM as well, so I knew what each slot's for, but here, I'm a bit in the dark.
