Hi everyone I bought a project b7 2.0t with a broken timing belt, everything went well.now as I was inspecting the turbo before I install it . I applied pressure to the wastegate and the wastegate slowly creeps back.is it suppose to? Or is it suppose to hold? I used a hand held vacuum pump .I also made sure connections were tight . Ty so much and have a great day😊😊

The wastegate should have held the pressure in my opinion because the system dumps/vents that pressure back off via N75.

You could connect it to a low pressure gauge and see what happens.

Hi I used the same vacuum pump on my sons wastegate , his A5 , cuz he was doing a service on it and I just happen to be there .his wastegate did hold, unlike the one in my B7 2.0 T.so is my diaphram torn you think? I apply pressure to it, then it slowly retracts.
