Hope someone can help me with this:
Background: I purchased my first Audi in September of last year due to totaling of last car. About 6 weeks after purchase there was an icestorm and I slid into a curb going about 2mph. Immediately my power steering went out. After some research I figured it was probably the steering rack or the steering control module. Upon recommendation from family member I went to a non dealership mechanic. After getting the car back with the steering rack replaced along with steering control module I found that there were more errors lights showing up. These included ESP, Dynamic Steering Fault(ok to drive it says), Sports Differential not working, Adaptive Headlight control failure. The mechanic stated that they should go away after a few days driving. I doubted this and I was correct. The errors remained, after talking to the mechanic, he stated it would have to be programmed at the dealership. After paying the mechanic I really do not have the cash to take to dealer. I had already planned on purchasing vagcom and thought maybe I could fix myself. I would appreciate any help on this, basically, just need to know if there is a way to fix the issues using Vagcom or if I need to take to authorized dealer.
