When thousands are dying of the seasonal flu in the UK alone (approx 25k per annum) as they do every year, and twelve people worldwide are admitted with COVID, will it still be a reason to keep us all locked up?

I've just been reading about Yogi Berra and his penchant for malapropisms. I'm not sure if anyone outside Australia is aware of Aussie-Rules football (no reason why they should). The Australian Football League (AFL) has a big following down here (not me) and its players are revered like semi-gods (not by me) and they receive an obscene amount of money for kicking a pig-skin around a field!!

Anyhow, after reading Mr Berra's contributions - I reckon our mental giants in the AFL are just as good:

Code:
'I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father.'
(Shane Wakelin).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.'
(Mick Malthouse - Collingwood).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'I'm going to graduate on time, no matter how long it takes.'
(Peter Bell - Fremantle - on his University Law studies).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'You guys line up alphabetically by height.' and 'You guys pair up in groups of three, then line up in a circle.'
(Barry Hall Sydney Captain at training)..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brock Maclean ( Melbourne ) on whether he had visited the Pyramids during his recent visit to Egypt :
'I can't really remember the names of the clubs that we went to.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'He's a guy who gets up at six o'clock in the morning regardless of what time it is.'
(Kevin Sheedy on James Hird).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jonathan Brown, on Night Grand Finals vs Day Games
'It's basically the same, just darker.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ron Barassi talking about Gary Cowton
'I told him, 'Son, what is it with you. Is it ignorance or apathy?'
He said, 'Barass, I don't know and I don't care.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barry Hall ( Sydney ) when asked about the upcoming season:
'I want to kick 70 or 80 goals this season, whichever comes first.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Luke Hodge - the 21 year old, who turned 22 a few weeks ago'
(Dermott Brereton).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Chad had done a bit of mental arithmetic with a calculator.'
(Mark Williams).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'We actually got the winning goal three minutes from the end but then they scored.'
(Ben Cousins, West Coast Eagles).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'I've never had major knee surgery on any other part of my body.'
(Luke Darcy).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'That kick was absolutely unique, except for the one before it which was identical.'
(Dermott Brereton).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Sure there have been injuries and deaths in football - but none of them serious.'
(Adrian Anderson).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again.
(Andrew Demetriou).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would not say he (Chris Judd) is the best centre man in the AFL but there are none better.' (Dermott Brereton).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'I never comment on umpires and I'm not going to break the habit of a lifetime for that prat.' (Terry Wallace).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Garry Lyon : 'Have you ever thought of writing your autobiography?'
David Swartz: 'On what?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Well, either side could win it, or it could be a draw.'
(Dermott Brereton).
I have seen that, only once, on the back of a 4B A6; I cannot imagine how you could do it.
Not sure how either, but anyone who does that should be sentenced to a lifetime prohibition from touching anything resembling a tool of any kind.
It is one of my serious concerns with EV’s, they will be safe when new but what about when it is fifteen years old and some moron is tying to fix it? People will die and in a very unpleasant manner
With regenerative braking, the rotors/pads on EV's should be lifetime parts! Plus, they are the exact same parts as gas/diesel vehicles, so the same moron could send a tank of flammable gasoline into a crash trying to change the brakes on one of those.....
Do you experience annual severe salt induced corrosion where you live? An unused brake disc will be destroyed in a year in the UK without good use and a PETROL fire is easy to extinguish, a burning LithumIon fire is a little more taxing
The ice/snow melter used on our roads will eat a steel car in about 10 years. Not only do they use sodium chloride salt, but they also use some nastier stuff in addition to liquid brine when the temperatures are too cold for salt.
I habitually do a light left-foot brake drag whenever I pull out of the driveway after rain/snow or if a vehicle has sat for a few days, to clean the scale off before reaching the first stop sign. Plus, leaving home with a full charge, my BMW i3's regenerative braking system uses the brake system for the first stops because it has no room in the batteries to store that recovered energy so you could say that it self-cleans the discs.....
