H/T @Santos. This one is neat. There's a fix, but the nature of the original problem is still unknown:

I'm pretty sure 0.4 and 0.5 ohm is too high for that short of a wire. It should test at or near zero ohms on a typical multimeter. I'd say the wire resistance is exactly the issue. I bet if he tested his repair wires, they'd have much lower resistance readings.

I noticed he did not load those Can Bus wires..... can you safely do that? (load-pro etc.).

One of my mates has a 71? that has about 40,000 miles on it (now anyway, because he uses it quite a bit!)
