At close to $1K (at present) I think that's a hard sell in an automotive shop but for the right application (detecting leaking refrigerant, gas, etc.) that's already in the budget zone.

I can imagine repair shops or individuals finding these devices as part of troubleshooting other issues (or ones caused by the device).
