CAN Gateway, help needed please

hi guys, so today i scanned my friends car as its been to a few garages and no one can sort it getting it started.
when pushing key in yellow steering comes on cluster and goes off after about 3 seconds, then no other lights on. The steering lock has been replaced with new one fron vw dealers.
Plugged hexv2 in, only scans when door is open, please see scan,

Mind telling us what has already been done and tried to this Passat B6 ?

Fuses?
Ignition switch?
Terminal 15, 30, 31, 50 or X?

Didn't see it at first but GVL shows that some modules are reachable but in the scan they aren't. Assumption is the mother of f-ups but I'd think power and ground shouldn't be the problem here but it wouldn't hurt to check the fuses (also the really large amperage ones under the bonnet). If all fuses good, keep the battery disconnected for some time. If it doesn't help, I'd try fitting another used CAN gateway from 3C0 or 7N0 series (3C0907530xx or 7N0907530xx), code it and see if communication occurs.
