There are terminal pins which allow two conductors to be crimped together.

I get that for larger terminals like the one you pictured, however in my instance the wire and terminal pin is much smaller (000979009e - pictured below), and I've never seen these tiny connectors crimped together.

Then you could complain to vag group for incorrect diagrams I assume? What sort of material damage had you sustain?

Look closer:

This does not answer my original question. Thank you for your input, however.

Does anyone know what this means? I cannot find an answer for this even from the tons of YouTube videos and forums on wiring diagram tutorials.

Reference to the two wires being conjoined at pin 9.

What it looks like to me is that two wire terminals are connected at one terminal pin.
See the * and + symbols beside two of the wires? Are there notes on the page that suggest these wires are option dependent?

I figured it out.

The + just means positive. Yes, you are right that the asterisk implies optional equipment, but that optional equipment I'm equipped with, which caused the initial confusion.

In my case, the added option implies a different pin connector. The optional equipment (*) indicates that W45 has a 4-pin connector (T4hy), whereas if equipped without the optional equipment, W45 has a 2-pin connector (T2wl).
Hence why there seems to be an "extra wire" going to one pin, whereas that's not actually the case.

Kind of confusing at first but it makes sense now.

It is not Extra wire , For 2-pin connector (T2wl) is GR and WS colors they go together, For 4-pin connector (T4hy) is GR/GE and WS.
I hope this helps you in future .

Also in doing some research and looking at the wiring in my car, VW/Audi and other professional companies do not ever crimp two wires to one pin terminal.

Of course, you will still see it on Aliexpress and other homemade harnesses - because those are not professional.

The tiny pin terminals that are used by VW/Audi made that are made by very good electronic companies are made for very specific wire gauges and other specifics - and are designed to be used with only one wire.
