Looking for an auto scan and an ADPMap of module 5F for a 2019 Atlas SEL Premium.

Trying to figure out if I can enable WLAN (and therefore Media Control) on my 2019 Tiguan SEL Premium, that also has the Discover Media system.

Maybe. What happens when you try?

I don't have a 2019 for you, but I do have a 2018 Atlas SEL Premium and a 2018 Golf R, both with Discover Media that should be identical in hardware capabilities, but they're not. I've tried it on both. My Atlas can have WiFi enabled, but my Golf can't.

PS: I made this "work" briefly on the Atlas and I assure you it's not worth it, at least in the USA. Once you get done with the side loading hackery on a device where it happens to actually work enough to connect (a surprisingly small set) it gets super confused at the presence of SiriusXM, since that's not a thing in Europe where VW actually push this app, so it kinda half-ass works until you change sources and then kaboom. The nav integration is a quarter-assed mishmash of onboard vs Google maps. Save your time.

My early attempts have led to a WiFi (or WLAN, I forget which) menu appearing, but it's greyed out an inaccessible.

The side load hackery is a thing of the past: VWoA has released the Media Control app in the US Apple App Store.

Same. The module also extends me a cordial invitation to autocopulate:

The same coding bit works fine on my Atlas.

My work was on Android, so you might have better luck, especially if it's on the US app store. The version I tried was looking for European DAB radio and not SiriusXM.

The Byte Coding errors are exactly what I got as well. I guess the slightly different part numbers (both your R and my Tiguan are 876B vs 876 in your Atlas) indicate the wifi module being installed or not. Guess I'm out of luck, oh well!

Thanks for the help. I can let this one go and move on to playing with other stuff now.

hmm......... back in the early days of the introduction of the Golf mk7 to MQB build platform, MIB units came with an option which I think was called "Premium telephony package" (or something similar). My recollection ( alas my fading memory) is that the option allowed enhanced rSAP facility - probably because additional equipment was installed in the mib like a GSM modem. WLAN compatible MIBs in those days were identifiable by the inclusion of the additional SIM slot:

Anyhow, notwithstanding the "official" way of enabling WLAN, the following instructions were provided by "Chillout" in a discussion on VWW for MIBs without the added telephony equipment (I haven't tried this - my A3 has WLAN connectivity enabled via the SIM slot):

Module 5F

Login 20103
Long Coding:
Byte 15, bit 4 = 1 (Phone NAD)
Byte 24, bit 3 = 1 (WLAN Module)
Adaptation:
IDE03471-ENG117842-Vehicle configuration-WIFI_Hotspot: On
IDE03471-ENG117852-Vehicle configuration-UPnP: On (Will enable DLNA) - note: on my WLAN enabled MIB, this channel is set to "OFF"
Also, my MIB has IDE03471-ENG137648-Vehicle configuration-WiFi_Client_HMI set to "On"

EDIT: Ooops - according to "sootchucker" (another VWW forum colleague), the other important part of the WLAN enabling process is to reset the MIB after implementing the changes - apparently lots of stuff happens after the reset!!
