I stumbled on a picture of a museum display, which compares the Apollo guidance computer against an iPhone 5:
Only NASA would spend what I'm guestimating was tens of millions of dollars for a lame computer that weighed 32 kg!
If SpaceX was contracted to do the moon landings, I'm sure that they would have chosen the iPhone 5 on contract for $199 for their lunar missions. As a result, we would not have the ongoing controversy about whether Neil Armstrong said "One small step for man" or "One small step for *a* man" as he stepped off the ladder...since he would have been live Tweeting from the moon! Buzz Aldrin could have recorded HD video of the event, and Michael Collins could have shot selfies of himself up in the Command/Service module.

@NASAHouston Hey guys, it's not made of cheese after all! #TranquilityBase #Apollo11 #OneSmallStep #GoodLuckMrGorsky
(Somebody with photoshop skills should make up fake Twitter screen shots for what could have transpired if the Apollo 11 crew was using Twitter.....)
